PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

in urban planning, real estate & tax law

An attorney since 1974, Gary has focused on the relationship between private companies and local governments. He’s represented clients before county governments, St. Louis City, and dozens of municipalities. Gary retired at the end of 2021 from the Husch Blackwell law firm in Clayton. He has served as a Clayton Ward 3 alderman for more than a year and a half, using his experience to play a leadership role.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

as an active volunteer

Gary has given his time and leadership to numerous Clayton causes, including as president of the Clayton Century Foundation. Among other positions, he served as a twice-elected member of the Clayton School Board, led numerous organizations that are critical partners of the city, and served on four community commissions and boards.

DEEP ROOTS

in the city of Clayton and Ward 3

A 50-year resident of Clayton, Gary moved to Ward 3 in 1978 with his wife, Robin, executive director emeritus of CID-Central Institute for the Deaf. Their daughters Amy and Jessica attended Clayton public schools, as do three of their five grandchildren.
