I have now served as one of your Ward 3 aldermen for more than a year and a half. Re-election will allow me to continue to apply what I’ve learned and experienced in helping fully to guide Clayton in the years ahead.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
- Clayton School Board, 1984-1990, serving as Vice President and Treasurer
- Co-Chair of 1996 joint City of Clayton/School District tax levy/bond task force that led to major renovations of CHS, construction of the new Center of Clayton and other city of Clayton projects
- Chair of Washington University’s Law Eliot Society raising money for scholarships
- Graduate of Leadership St. Louis/Focus St. Louis program—class of 1992-93.
- Served on the Plan Commission and Clayton Charter Review Task Force to review certain provisions of Clayton’s ‘Constitution’ and recommended possible charter changes to Board of Aldermen
CAREER
- 1974: Passed Missouri Bar and practiced law for 47 years
- 1974-1978: Worked for Team Four, an Urban Planning and Land Development firm
- 1978-2021: In private practice focused on real estate, corporate and tax law. Partner at Husch Blackwell for 21 years, retired at the end of 2021.
- 2013-present: Adjunct Professor at Washington University School of Law, teaching Commercial Real Estate Law course
RESIDENCE
- 55 years in St. Louis area (came here as freshman at Washington University)
- 50 years in Clayton (since 1973, with first five years in DeMun area)
- 45 years as a resident of Ward 3 in Clayton Gardens and Davis Place (since 1978)
EDUCATION
- 1970: AB Washington University (English)
- 1974: JD Washington University Law School. In law school, Feder was Editor in Chief of the Urban Law Annual, a law review focused on housing, zoning and land use
- 1980: LLM Masters in Tax Law (Washington University Law School)
